Import2 or a CSV import?

The built-in import lives on the Leads and Customers pages, and has a downloadable template so the columns line up. For anything with history and relationships behind it, Import2 is far less painful.

Import2 in the sidebar → Connect Import2. Enter your Import2 API key and, optionally, an account ID.

Start with the free sample

Import2 offers a free sample migration that completes in under 15 minutes. Do this before the full run, every time.
The sample is how you catch a field mapped to the wrong place while it costs you nothing. A full migration that lands with company names in the notes field is far more work to undo than to prevent.
Check the sample for: names and companies in the right fields, phone numbers with country codes intact, owners mapped to the right people, and pipeline stages matching your stages here.

Check pipeline stages

Stage names from the old system may not match yours. Fix them, and confirm your win and lost stages are still flagged — reporting depends on it. See Leads and pipeline.

Check ownership

Imported records need owners who exist here. Unowned customers do not benefit from sticky assignment.

Spot-check phone numbers

Numbers without country codes will not match incoming WhatsApp conversations to the right customer.
That third one is worth real attention: a mismatched number means an existing customer arrives as a stranger, and the CRM history you just migrated does not surface where you need it.
