# Workspace settings

> The four settings tabs — workspace identity, layout and look, notifications, and inbox.

**Settings** in the sidebar. Four tabs, and they differ in who they affect.

## Workspace

Company name, logo, URL slug and currency.

<Warning>
  The **URL slug is permanent.** It is set when the workspace is created and cannot be changed
  afterwards. Everything else on this tab can.
</Warning>

Currency affects how deal values are displayed and totaled across reports, so set it before
people start entering values.

## Layout & look

Personal preferences: theme (light, dark or follow system), sidebar behavior, and layout
density. Changing these affects nobody else — an admin switching to dark mode does not
darken the workspace.

## Notifications

Sound on new message, whether to play it only when the tab is visible, and a test button.
Also personal.

## Inbox

The workspace-wide behavior that matters most:

* **Chat assignment** — the five distribution toggles.

* **Agent presence** — idle threshold, auto sign-out, offline grace period.
  See [Presence](/help/routing/presence-ready-busy-off).
* **Shifts** — rotas, admin-only. See [Shifts](/help/routing/shifts-and-rotas).

These are the settings to read about before changing. Everything else on this page is
cosmetic or personal; these change who receives which conversation.
