# File storage

> Browsing, uploading and deleting the files your workspace has accumulated.

**Storage** in the sidebar — every file your workspace holds: media sent and received in
conversations, template images, uploaded attachments, imported spreadsheets.

## Finding things

Search by name, and filter by **category** and **type**. The header shows totals for
resources, images and documents.

## What you can do

| **Copy URL**     | A direct link to the file     |
| **Download**     | Save it locally               |
| **Delete**       | Select one or many            |

Select several files to copy all their URLs or delete them together.

## Before you delete

  Deleting is permanent, and files here are **referenced by things that still use them** — a
  template's header image, media inside a conversation, an attachment on a quick reply.
  Deleting a file that a WhatsApp template depends on can invalidate that template.

  Check what a file is before removing it. "Delete Permanently" means it.

Safe candidates are usually old imported spreadsheets and one-off uploads that were never
attached to anything.

## Keeping it under control

Media received in conversations is the bulk of most workspaces' storage, and it grows with
message volume rather than with anything you control directly. If you are near a limit, the
fastest wins are old imports and duplicate uploads rather than conversation media, which
you generally want to keep for context.
